Celebrating its 10th anniversay this year, TravelSim has grown to become the world’s leading alternative roaming service and a well-known international brand during the last decade. What is behind the scenes of this international success stoy?

TravelSim started its roaming service in 2006, first launched in regions close to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Russia. The first services were like bare bones – calls and short message services. TravelSim users needed different phone numbers for calls and SMS services. There was no data, no voicemail, no location services, and no Personal Assistant or other value-added services.

Today, TravelSim is the world’s leading alternative roaming service, with more than 4.5 million users worldwide and 190 countries covered. TravelSim runs a distribution network in over 62 countries across the globe, and this number is constantly increasing. For example, we recently signed a distribution agreement with a company from Brunei. Our main services are roaming sim cards that have all the features, including data packs, SMS bundles, cheap calls, and data service.

TravelSim attracts primarily two types of end users – business and leisure travellers. Leisure customers are seasonal, using roaming service usually in winter and summer. Business customers are active users all year round, from Monday to Friday, but use fewer services over the weekends.

But there are also some very unusual TravelSim “customers”, such as hunting dogs and wild animals. Transmitters with our sim cards are installed on the collars of hunting dogs so that hunters are able to follow dogs in border areas where regular mobile service coverage is often questionable. TravelSim is also used in the trackers placed on wild animals in order to track their migration through different countries.

TravelSim is a technologically advanced company with a very talented team that can come up with very interesting and unusual approaches to outlined challenges. TravelSim has successfully exhibited at CommunicAsia 2016 trade show, which was held in Singapore between 31 May and 3 June.

Being the only Estonian company present at this show, Travelsim held over 100 fruitful meetings and concluded several distribution agreements.

We presented our new marketing strategy for Asian region including unlimited data packages for people traveling from Asia to Europe and unlimited chat options with our new product TravelChat.

With support of our new partners we are looking forward to establish a solid presence in the APAC region.

New service ZeroBalance

New service ZeroBalance

We would like to remind you that our new service ZeroBalance is available for your clients starting 21 March 2016!

If your client has run out of funds, ZeroBalance will allow him to request a callback from any another user by simply making an outbound call.

Even with 0 balance user A can dial user B, who will receive an inbound call and will be able to call back. User A should be in the country with free incoming calls, otherwise he should have some balance for at least 1 minute of incoming call.

Please also note that ZeroBalance is not available with extra numbers and in countries with extra rates.

There is no need to install or dial anything additionally. It is absolutely free of charge for you and your clients on TravelSim Classic and TravelSim New cards!

Over the course of seven years TravelSim has partnered with numerous hotel chains and airlines in order to bring more benefit to your clients roaming experience. As you know, users are able to earn even more points with their hotel or airline loyalty programs by simply using TravelSim sim card.

Just to remind you about the program in general, your customers can visit www.mobilemiles.com webpage and enroll
free of charge. All they have to do is to register their TravelSim sim card with existing loyalty programs. In case your clients are not participating in a particular program at the moment they can enroll into any one of them right on the web. It’s a simple and easy signup process.

In 2015 there have been changes in the Mobile Miles program, which concern the way mobile miles allocation. Now, customer gets one mile for every outgoing and one mile for each received call, as long as its duration is 60 seconds or more.

Travel can throw up unexpected hurdles your way and innumerable things you haven’t thought about in advance!
Whether your client is going on a business trip or vacation, Personal Assistant is always there to help, providing free service and support whenever he needs it.

However, you may never know how great Personal Assistant really is, until it is the right time to use it! And so did our customer Martin, who was brought by the taxi driver to the wrong place, while being on a business trip in China. As it is widely known, Google is not available in China, so there was nothing more to do than call Personal Assistant!
As a result, client was right on time for the business appointment, as Personal Assistant ordered him
a taxi, translated destination name for the taxi driver and leſt him satisfied with the service.

British tourist Irwin has lost his Iphone during his short stay in Saint Petersburg. Luckily, for this purpose he had a Global phone with a TravelSim inside. Personal Assistant located and booked a table at the English pub as he requested, translated to Russian “How can I get to Hermitage?”, advised where to buy tickets to
Peterhof and woke him up with a call on the day of departure aſter a party in that very pub.
